Options Sports Academy of Limbe have earned a place at the 2020 National challenge cup courtesy of a 5-4 win over HO Academy this Sunday in Tiko.
Options Sports Academy dominated the first 10 minutes of the game forcing a save from goalkeeper Junior Akibongo through a great shot from goalkeeper Ritchica Esie Ngale.
HO Academy grew into the game after their goalkeepers save.
Yann Ange Essama of HO Academy took control of the midfield and his side dominated in the next 10 minutes of the game.
They registered their first shot on target in the 19 through forward Jonathan Dessi who force a save from Goalkeeper Benjamine Munya.
Options Sports Academy rallied from then on, they produced spectacular football in the attacking half but their final product led them down on multiple occasions.
The pace of Nebamkia PeterPaul was the Options route for quick breaks but as it was the case all afternoon poor finishing was their undoing.
The score stayed at zero all until half time but not without real chances.
Coach Daniel Walinjom of Options Sports Academy and coach Serge Patrice of HO allow the same personnels in for the second segment.
The game continued in blistering pace with both sides testing the defenders with every opportunity presented them.
Unfortunately for the huge number of supporters present, there wasn’t a goal for them until full time.
The game had to be decided on post match penalties.
HO Academy’s Casemiro Boue missed the only of the 10 penalties taken by both sides giving Options Sports a 5-4 victory on penalties.
The victory is Options fifth in five games between both clubs.
The result coupled with Istanbul FA’s three nil victory in Buea meant HO and Options Academy join Istanbul FA as the three representatives of Southwest Region in the draw for the 32nd final of the 2020 cup of Cameroon.
