Cameroon Elite One side Fovu of Baham have appointed former Astres of Douala lead trainer Olivier Nankam as their next coach on a two-year-deal.
The 2019 Under-17 AFCON winning coach as deputy to Thomas Libiih has been handed the job this Wednesday evening bringing an end to weeks of negotiations between parties involved.
The 2015 Cameroon Cup winner with a wealth of knowledge of the Cameroon Elite One championship sat out all of last season.
This Wednesday’s deal means the one-time Colombe of Dja and Lobo gaffer returns to familiar territory after a somewhat one year sabbatical.
Fovu talked with a number of high profile coaches for the job.
The Yangwa’a boys ended last season on the satisfactory 7th spot having regained top-flight status after four years out.
The hiring of the experienced coach Olivier Nankam once of YOSA and APEJES could be interpreted as a statement of their their intentions ahead of the September/October kick off of the new season.
