Indomitable Lions of Cameroon and Royal Mouscron’s duo Fabrice Olinga and Serge Tabekou were amongst the goals on Saturday as their Belgian Jupiler Pro League outfit recorded a narrow 2-0 win at home to Genk.
On a very rare occasion for Cameroon football, three Cameroonian footballers Junior Onana, Serge Tabekou and Fabrice Olinga started for the host.
It took just 29 minutes for the host to score the opener through Fabrice Olinga off an assist from Xadas.
That lead was protected till the break with the host largely the better side.
Mouscron improved upon resumption for the second segment of the game but couldn’t get the security goal as Genk defended resolutely while looking for a way back into the game.
Tabekou saw yellow for his troubles in the 65th minutes leaving him on tightrope.
The forward finally had the rewards for his efforts in the 71st minute when he concluded a solo effort with the second and final goal of the game.
Both Cameroonian forwards were replaced at the death of the game while Onana lasted the duration.
Tabekou has scored three goals and assisted one in 17 games while Olinga scored his first in 12 games this season. The latter counts an assist in the ongoing season.
Royal Mouscron are 16th on the log with 20 points from 21 Jupiler Pro League games this season.
They host Waasland Beveren of Georges Mandjeck and Serge Leuko in their next assignment on Tuesday.
