President of Reigns Soccer Agency, Olawale Onipede says the Super Eagles of Nigeria are not growing and also not improving as a team.
After the team’s ouster from the ongoing African Cup of Nations (AFCON), he said the team didn’t gel well at the tournament.
“We must be honest to our here and say the truth out that our national team is not improving or growing. At this level, we should be improving not growing in this Nations Cup. Nigeria fans, supporters, and sports are raising praises on the team after their first win against the Egyptian national team I kept silent watching because I know is a time bomb waiting to explode. I said before the kickoff of the tournament that we should not raise our hope high on this team because it is clear that the team gel is not functioning well.
“A good machine doesn’t need a repair. Our national team is still lacking behind because football has developed more than what others are thinking or imagining. Look at the currently Nations Cup, teams are developing their teams seriously imagine the best goals of the tournament is been scored by local players in Africa that tell you Africa leagues are improving seriously to bring in foreign sponsorship for the leagues to become super bands to be reckoned with in the business.”
The FIFA Licensed agent also gave a piece of advice to Super Eagles coach, Augustine Eguavoen.
He said: “Back to our coach, he should have 3 information for each game in case anything happens during the match also our players lack characters and attitude that game we lose to Tunisia. Convert Chances in the game makes you special and record with always but our players lack these potentials, converting chance single us out against Egyptian but against Tunisia, we were running our shadows well as I always say Victory is sweet but defeat is bitter. The world cup qualifiers are ahead of us if we fail to raise our game we will sit back watching the World Cup at home. We should improve our game and not grow because we are beyond that as a nation.”
Super Eagles crashed out of the AFCON 2022 at the Round of 16 after winning all three Group D games and will face Black Stars of Ghana in the two-legged 2022 FIFA World Cup Playoffs.
The winner of the tie will qualify for the World Cup.
