FIFA license agent and CEO of Reigns Soccer Agency, Olawale Onipede says Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr does not have a Unique Selling Point (USP) and this will affect the team.
“Where purpose is not known abuse is inevitable. What is the purpose of Rohr handling our national team and what his Rohr UPS, U-UNIQUE, P-SELLING, P-POINT? For our national team, all this is missing and has disappeared from senior our national team. We lack character and attitude in Super Eagles you find it difficult and hard watching Super Eagles playing it worse.” Says Onipede.
Super Eagles of Nigeria failed to win any game in 2020 and surrendered a 4-0 lead against Sierra Leone at home before playing out a 0-0 draw away to the Leone Stars.
Olawale said: “By perservance, the snail reached the Ark, but the reverse case is for the fans because we lived in an environment where results are needed as fast as possible. Life without result leads to insult. The fans are angry and not happy with Super Eagles playing styles, we don’t have patterns that we are used to and know with in the past. The most painful in life is not defeat but regret. If you skip the process you miss the Success”.
Nigeria played four games in 2020, with three draws and a defeat to Algeria. This will be the first time since 1970 that the Super Eagles will fail to win a game in a calendar year. They still top Group L of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) Qualifiers with eight points, one point ahead of Benin Republic.
