Former Super Eagles players like Austin Jay Jay Okocha, Nwankwo Kanu, Julius Agahowa, Victor Ikpeba, Ifeanyi Udeze, Ike Shorunmu, Peter Rufai, Tijani Babngida, Samson Siasia, Taribo West, Victor Agali, Coach Bonfrere Jo and others returned to the field of play on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, to play with Kogi Executive Council members including the State Governor, Yahaya Bello at the Confluence Stadium, Lokoja.
Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello scored the first goal of the Novelty match to put his side ahead from the penalty spot.
Former Shakhtar Donetsk and Wigan Athletic player, Julius Efosa Agahowa equalised for the former Super Eagles players.
The novelty match was at the behest of the Ex-Super Eagles players’ gesture to show solidarity towards Governor Yahaya Bello’s Presidential ambition.
