Barcelona’s wonder kid, Ansu Fati has been granted Spanish citizenship ending huge speculations about his international future.
The 16- year-old Catalan talent may represent Spain at the U-17 World Cup in Brazil.
The FIFA U-17 World Cup will run from October 26- November 17,2019.
Fati could return to play for Guinea and Portugal at senior level as per FIFA’S status which permits him to have a switch of nationality.
Fati had informed the Spanish Federation he will like to play for Spain.
The RFEF had began working for his Spanish passport for 3 months earlier.
The winger became only the 10th youngest player to feature in the UEFA champions league as Barcelona held Borussia Dortmund to a goalless draw in Germany.
Born in Guinea Bissua, Ansu Fati left for Spain at the age of 6 were he joined Barcelona’s La Masia Academy in 2012.
He scored his first professional goal in August against Osasuna.
