Nigel Alfred Steven Atangana has signed a two year contract with Exeter City FC in England’s league two ( the fourth tier of the English football league) .
He joined the fourth tier club on May 20th 2019, after being released due to the end of his contract with Cheltenham to join the Grecians.
The former Portsmouth defensive midfielder is Exeter City’s latest signing and has been appreciated by the club’s manager , Matt Taylor despite his injury.
“I am pleased to have signed him. We are going to have to be patient with him off the back of a serious injury and his Achilles rupture, but we’re working with over the next few years” Matt Taylor revealed to Devonlive.
“I don’t imagine him being fit for the start of the pre-season or even the start of the league campaign. But will be close to being fit around that time, so we have to be patient with him. “
I want to keep bringing good players to the club and players that will improve the squad”
The 30 year old midfielder helped Cheltenham finish 16th in the league two.
He gets set to join league rivals Exeter who rounded off 9th, 13 points better than his now former club.
Exeter won their first league title in the 1989–90 season, gaining promotion as Fourth Division champions under the stewardship of Terry Cooper .
