Indomitable Lioness of Cameroon forward Farida Machia has joined Portuguese Boavista side Ouriense for the rest of the season.
The Club announced the acquisition of the 29-year-old forward this Thursday barely days after kick442.com reported Farida was on her way back to Portugal.
The striker joins from Cameroon outfit Awa Ladies FC where she scored five goals in five games in the first half of the current season.
It is the second Portuguese Club Farida will represent as she previously played for and won the Portuguese title with Braga in the 2018-2019 season.
The talented forward left a lasting impression during the two year stint on the books of Braga winning a domestic double in her debut campaign and contributed nine goals plus 11 assists in 49 games played across two the seasons.
Oureinse are in struggling to keep away from the relegation in group two of the Portuguese domestic championship.
The arrival of Machia could be a huge boast in their survival hopes half way into the domestic season.
“I’m excited to join Ouriense. After discussing with the coach and seeing his vision for the rest of the season I thought it would be a good challenge to come and help lift up the team to where they aim to be,” Machia told kick442.com on arrival.
The two-capped Cameroon International earned a recall to the senior national selection days before the switch to Portugal.
