As announced earlier this month, French Ligue Un side FC Nantes has agreed to a three and
half year contract extension to with their Cameroonian defender Jean-Charles Castelletto.
The club completed the move on Thursday and presented Castelletto after weeks of negotiation with the former Red Star FC sweeper.
Castelletto, 26 joined Nantes in 2020 on an initial three-year deal that was to run out next summer.
The center-half valued at 3-million Euro by German firm Transfermkt has featured in 21 games in all competitions this season. The outstanding performances produced by the main-man in Coach Antoine Kamboure’s defensive set-up amounted to interest from English and Spanish clubs, thus explaining while Nantes had to make moves to secure his stay.
Midway into his second season at FC Nantes, the former Club Brugge KW defender has made 46 appearances for the yellow and Green, scoring on two occasions, with his outings in big games especially most recently against PSG explaining why Nantes did their all to bring him from Stade Brest.
Castelleto who has also played for Auxerre in France and Belgian side Royal Mouscron will continue his great stay at Nantes at least for the next four years.

The Cameroon international with eight-capped Cameroon defender came through the French football formation system – featuring for all of the French youth national teams before settling on Cameroon of his father over France where he was born or Italy where his dad hails from.
Castelletto is in coach Rigobert Song’s Cameroon squad to face Algeria in the 2022 FIFA World Cup play-offs later this month.
