Cameroon have lost a rare gem to the cruel hands of death.
Confirmed reports now indicates that young Cameroon center-forward Christian Onguene Poly, died at the Yaounde Central hospital after a brief illness on Saturday, August 3rd.
The player died at age 26, still trying to put up numbers so he could be called to the camp of the indomitable Lions.
Christian Onguene Poly had previously played for perhaps the two most successful clubs in the land. He led the attack of legendary TKC and Canon Sportive of Yaounde which happened to be his poster clubs before his demise at a young age.
Outside the country, Poly was selected in 2015 after tryouts with Bolivian top-flight side San José, then aged 22. The player convinced the San José coach at the time – Freddy Cossio, who gave him the thumbs up to lead the attack in the 2015-2016 Clausura competition.
