The chairman of Bayelsa queens FC Mr. Ebiki Timitimi who also doubles as the Chairman of Chairmen and Club Owners of Female Clubs in Nigeria congratulate the entire female clubs for exhibition of high standard of the game in just concluded female league.
“I want to say there is no victor and no vanquish because all the female clubs in Nigeria are the primary developer of female football in Nigeria that has given and won the highest number of laurels for Nigeria. I appreciate you all, also to the Aisha Falode’s led board for a job well done, the Nigeria Referee Association (NRA) Appointment Comittee for doing a good job during the just concluded Nigeria Women Premier League (NWPL)

Mr. Ebike also gave an appeal to the country’s football governing body, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) by admonishing the Federation to support the female clubs morally and otherwise since these clubs help in producing players for the female national teams. “I will passionately appeal to NFF suggesting that since clubs are the ones developing players for our national teams, NFF should as a way of encouragement and appreciation provide balls for the various clubs before the commencement of the league and also to see how female league winners can be playing at the continent level”.
He concluded.

The Nigeria Women Premier League (NWPL) reached it’s cresendo this week with places decided for Super 4 and Relegation Playoffs Spots. Rivers Angels, Adamawa Queens, Bayelsa Queens and Confluence Queens sealed Super 4 spots while on the other hand Osun Babes, Dream Stars Ladies, Kaduna Queens and Invincible Angels will compete for the Relegation Playoffs in which two (2) out of the four (4) clubs will be relegated from the league.

With the male football clubs participating in the CAF Champions League and Confederations Cup which is also evident in Europe with the UEFA Women’s Champions League, it is hoped that very soon Africa will be able to come up with women continental club competitions to further foster the growth and development of female football in Africa.
