2021 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership league leaders, Bayelsa Queens were forced to a 1-1 draw by Osun Babes in their week nine fixture at Osogbo Township Stadium on Wednesday.
Charity Reuben scored her sixth goal of the season for Bayelsa Queens before Osun Babes equalised via Grace Marcus’ goal to force the Restoration Girls to a 1-1 draw.
The draw was the first for both sides this season as Osun Babes maintained their unbeaten run at home while Bayelsa Queens played out their first draw of the season after seven wins and a defeat to Delta Queens.
Rivers Angels will move to the top of the league table if they defeat DreamStar FC Ladies on Thursday at the Soccer Temple, Agege Stadium, Lagos.
In other week nine games, Pelican Stars and Nasarawa Amazons also played out a 1-1 draw. Igboamalu Chinyere scored the opening goal for Nasarawa Amazons before Pelican Stars equalised courtesy Ogechi Ukwuoma.
Edo Queens pipped FC Robo Queens 2-1 with goals from Maryanm Ohadiwe and Glory Osaghae. The second goal by Glory Osaghae came off an assist from Temilope Owoeye. Esther Onyenezide pulled one goal back for FC Robo Queens.
A goal from former Sunshine Queens player, Kehinde Agamuiyi gave Royal Queens a 1-0 win over Sunshine Queens.
Titilayo Aweda’s goal was enough to earn Confluence Queens their first away win of the season with a 0-1 win over Ibom Angels in Uyo.
Abia Angels picked their first point after five games winless streak with a goalless draw with Delta Queens.
