Ahead of the 2020/2021 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Championship and Nationwide leagues, eight clubs are expected to take part in an invitational challenge women football Pre-Season Tourney.
Royaltoms Queens (Ogun State), Unification FC (Lagos State), Prince Kazeem Eletu FC (Lagos State), Fortress Ladies (Edo State), Osklean FC (Rivers State), Imo Angels (Imo State), and SGH Queens (Lagos State) will participate in the invitational challenge.
Alimosho FC Ladies of Lagos pulled out of the tourney as organisers are in search of a replacement.
The challenge will take place from March 14 to 21, 2021, at Joju Football Pitch, Joju, Sango Ota, Ogun State.
Organisers also seek support from corporate bodies and lovers of female football in the country.
Most of the participating clubs are teams expected to use the tournament to prepare for the upcoming NWFL second and third-tier leagues (Championship and Nationwide leagues).
This is after the league Secretariat on Wednesday called on clubs in the third tier Nationwide League to register their clubs for the 2020/2021 season.
