Coach Anya Ugochi will replace the Nigerian U-17 girls’ gaffer, Bankole Olowookere as the Nigeria Women’s Football League, NWFL Club coach.
NWFL Premiership side, DreamStars Ladies FC have parted company with their coach, Bankole Oloowokere by mutual consent, the football club confirmed on Monday.
His departure comes a year after he helped the team retain its status in the Nigerian women’s elite league, the NWFL Premiership through the play-off.
The Flamingos Head Coach led the Pride of Lagos to a big win against Heartland Queens FC and his side also became the first and only side to score against Adamawa Queens in the 2018/2019 season.
“The club wishes to make it clear that Olowookere left on good terms and will always remain a much-loved, respected, and significant figure at DreamStar FC Ladies”.
“We appreciate all his contributions to the club since he became manager seventeen months ago.” The club said in a statement.
Coach Anya Ugochi, who replaces the Ekiti-born gaffer is a CAF C holder and has been appointed to lead the Galacticas ahead of the rebranded NWFL premiership.
She has coached Oasis Football Club before joining DreamStar Ladies and has been assisting Olowookere.
Ugochi is a graduate of National Institute of Sports, NIS, and CAF license holder.
She played for the Nigerian U20 women national team and have coached a number of youth teams including Oasis football club that had players that represented Nigeria’ in the flying Eagles.
A hard working new generation coach and a good example of an ex women footballer.
She is respectably married.
