The Nigeria Women Football League, NWFL has announced the burial date of the late former board member, Henrietta Ukaigwe, www.kick442.com can report
In a release by NWFL Media Department which was signed by the Chief Operating Officer, Dr. Ayo Abdulrahaman, dated August 1, 2020, Ukaigwe’s final journey was stipulated.
“The late former board member of the Nigeria Women Football League, Henrietta Ukaigwe will begin her journey to her final resting place on Wednesday, August 19, 2020, with a vigil mass at the SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Umuduruna, Abba, Imo State, at 10:00 am.” The release read.
“The service of song and final burial service will hold at the SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Umuduruna, Abba, at 10:00 am. Interment follows immediately at the family compound at 12 noon. Entertainment of guests follows after interment.” The release concluded.
Henrietta Ukaigwe died on Tuesday, July 14, 2020. She was a veteran journalist and has for several decades been at the vanguard of promoting the game of women’s football in Nigeria and even beyond, playing a key role in the wide traction gained by the game from the 1990s as Nigeria’s Super Falcons relentlessly dominated Africa and became a permanent feature in the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
