The much anticipated 2020/2021 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) finally started with fireworks from six centres of the country.
Promise Damala of Wikki Tourists scored the first goal of the season in the 5th minute to give the Bauchi side the lead against Nasarawa United.

FC Ifeanyiubah ended their seven match winless run against Lobi Stars in the NPFL after beating the Makurdi side 1-0. Nonso Nzediegwu 47th minutes goal was enough to earn the win.
Jigawa Golden Stars made their home advantage count as they outshine Gbenga Ogunbote’s Sunshine to win one goal to nil. Stone Onukwube’s 78th minutes strike proved enough to win the game for Golden Stars.
MFM FC welcome their Lagos fans to the Agege Township Stadium with a win over their opponent Warri Wolves.
The Church Boys edged the tie with a 2-1 win. The three goals of the game came in the first half. Ebenezer Odeyemi and Muyiwa Balogun scored in the 8th and 23rd minutes to give Wolves the two goal cushion before John Paul Chinedu scored in 27th minutes to reduce the deficit.
Kano Pillars and Adamawa United settled for a 1-1 draw.
The old war house, Rabiu Ali gave Kano Pillars the lead at half time, but the home team restored parity by the 75th minutes through Isa Garbage.
