Lobi Stars FC 2-1 Remo Stars FC
Yaya Kone scored his second at the death of the game to give Lobi Stars FC all three points against Remo Stars FC in Match Day 10 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) at the Aper Aku Stadium, Makurdi.
The interesting encounter started with both sides displaying wonderful touches on the ball until Edoka Owoicho located Lasisi Saheed with a short pass, he in turn set up Runsuwe Lanre but Kayode Olufemi denied his attempt to launch and for his side.
Edoka Owoicho’s injury in the fourth minute then disorganised the back four for Remo Stars FC after he stopped Samad Kadiri from giving the host the lead and was substituted by Hassan Yau
The visitors got the chance to go ahead through Sunday Williams after a nice exchange of passes between Awoyemi Abiodun and Ogwuche Mathias, he took from close range but Kayode Olufemi denied him.
Yaya Kone then gave the host the lead after a school boy error from Goalkeeper, James Faith, he received a back pass and nodded forward and the host built on that to go ahead.
The Sky Blue Stars leveled up through Sunday Williams after he received well a beautiful pass from Adebogun Omotayo to restore parity for the visitors.
Adebogun Omotayo break again from the midfield, he dribbled his marker to set up Sunday Williams but Ogwuche Mathias was anxious to get a goal to his name but the referee ruled him offside.
The host came close in the closing minutes of the first half after Adebogun Omotayo and Sunday Williams didn’t communicate well, Ekene Oliseme stole to up Bashiru Monsuru but his attempt went wide.
The final fourth five minutes wasn’t too enterprising as the first, the first clear attempt came through John Lawrence after he profited from a loose ball, he took at once and it went wide.
The visitors came close to going ahead through Runsuwe Lanre but he couldn’t convert a nice build up and a delicious pass from Adebogun Omotayo and the ball spins out of his foot.
Awoyemi Abiodun got a chance in the closing minutes of the game to the Sky Blue Stars the lead but he got pulled to the ground and the referee waved it off.
The host continued to mount pressure on the Sky Blue Stars in the final minutes of the game and it finally yielded for them through Yaya Kone, he found his way and drove the ball to his left before he finally slot the ball to the bottom corner to get all points for his side.
