On Sunday, two giants, Rangers and Enyimba in Nigeria Professional League will go head to head at the Cathedral in Enugu on Sunday, 5th May in an Oriental Derby regarded as the star match of the Match Day 17 fixtures.
The fixture will see the leaders of the group A of the league Rangers of Enugu and second of the league table Enyimba play for pride, prestige and above all qualification for the super six.
The Enugu boys who are smarting from a back to back lose against Bendel Insurance and Rivers United will be seeking to consolidate on their five points lead over their Eastern brothers and major rivals, while for the Aba boys it will be a game where they need to close the gap between them and Rangers.
The last four games has seen the two teams draw one while Rangers have come out victorious two times and Enyimba winning once.
However, the teams’ recent form puts Enyimba ahead as they have not lost in their last eleven games while Rangers thirteen unbeaten run was cut shortby Insurance and a wallop by Rivers United.
The two teams may have some players out due to injury but Rangers will be boosted by decision of the NFL to rescind the red card awarded to Seka Pascal against Insurance and the return of some other players before the Insurance game.
Enyimba on the hand, will be strengthened with the news of the return of three players who got injured in their last game against Lobi stars.
The match is slated for Sunday 4pm at the Aba Town Stadium.
