Remo stars of SAGAMU, Ogun state defeated Kwara United 2-1 in one of the Match Day 9 fixtures of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season. The match which was played at Osogbo Township Stadium in honour of former Secretary General of Nigeria Football Association (NFA) and chairman of Osun state Football Association, Late Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi was a keenly contested game.
Mathias Ogwuche brace in the 20th and 70th minutes respectively was enough for the Sky Blues side to earn a victory In spite of being pegged back by Kwara United Daberechi Anyanwu equaliser in the 45th minute.
In Akure, Ondo state, host Sunshine Stars held Bendel Insurance to a 1-1 draw. Insurance Kalu Moses got the first goal of the game in the 64th minute before his goal was cancelled out by Sunshine Stars Anthony Omaka in the 75th minute.
Go Round FC and Nasarawa United also played another 1-1 draw. Ikechukwu Nwani 26th minute strike was cancelled by Adeseun Adelani in the 42nd minute of the game.
FC Ifeanyi Ubah got a slim 1-0 triumph over El Kanemi warriors. Emmanuel Ugwuka’s 34th minute strike was enough for the home side
In Abia state, Akwa United held Abia Warriors to a 1-1 draw. Abia Warriors Chinedu Ozor’s 28th minute goal was cancelled by Mfon Udoh in the 33rd minute.
Finally in Owerri, Imo state capital, visitors Gombe United held host Heartland FC to a 1-1 draw. Chidiebere Ajoku’s 32nd minute goal was overturned by Chigozie Maurice 90th minute penalty after Uche Michael fouls Joseph Onoja in the box.
