Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) 2019/2020 league leaders got an important away point at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium on Saturday after playing out a goalless draw against Kastina United.
The result is Plateau’s second away point of the season which shows progress after losing their first two matches.
The Peace Boys hence move temporarily to sixth on the log with 8 points after six matches.
In the game, the narrative was not the same, as it was the away side who seemed likely to score after a couple saves by Katsina United’s goalkeeper Yusuf Mohammed.
Mohammed Zulkifilu came close twice, but was denied by the goalkeeper. The half ended goalless however.
Before the second phase of the game, Coach Abdul Maikaba made a double change. Abba Umar and Wasiu Jimoh replace Mohammed Zulkifilu and Akila Jesse respectively.
However, it was the home side that came out stronger as Plateau goalkeeper Chinedu Anozie dives full length to keep out Usman Barau’s attempt in the 48th minutes.
Kastina United pushed for a goal with fine play and also made changes, but all to avail.
The two sides ended the game sharing the spoils.
