Lobi Stars and Enyimba players in the battle for points

Match Day 5 of the current abridged Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) saw the country’s representative in the CAF Champions League, Lobi stars of Makurdi, Benue State laughing best with a resounding 3-0 win over Kwara united of Ilorin. Three first half goals from Michael Stephen (10th minute) and a brace from Yaya Kone (in the 29th and 34th minutes) sealed victory for the Makurdi side.

In other results, Sunshine stars of Akure, Ondo state were able to secure an away win against Wikki Tourist of Bauchi via Chibundu Amah 80th minute solitary strike.

In Kaduna, FC Ifeanyi Ubah got a hard fought 0-1 away win over new comers Kada City with goal from Chibuike Eze in the 62nd minute.

Rivers United and Enugu Rangers both secured a 1-0 home win over MFM FC of Lagos and Enyimba international FC of Aba.

Week 5 fixtures witnessed three (3) barren draws as games between Niger Tornadoes Vs Bendel Insurance, Plateau United Vs Kano Pillars as well as the fixture involving Abia Warriors and Gombe United all ended in 0-0 draws.
