Jigawa Golden Stars compounded the woes of Abia Warriors as they defeated the struggling team in Aba.
Despite scoring first, the home side fell three goals to nil to Jigawa Golden Stars who recorded their first away win since 2008.
The warriors showed desire in a bid to get their first win of the season after Utib Arit Archibong scored in the 7th minutes when he headed in Nzube Anazemba’s cross.
However, the away side cut short the happiness of the home side after Olasukanmi Quadiri drew the visitors level following a scramble in Warriors goal area.
The game was still even until the 60th minutes when Abia Warriors had the opportunity to take the lead through a penalty after Anaezemba was fouled in the box by Olarewaju Abdulrahman, but Fatai Abdullahi missed the spot kick.
Stone Samuel however made the home side pay for the penalty loss as he beats his marker to slot past goalkeeper Edafe in the 74th minutes to give Jigawa the lead in Aba.
Samuel was not done yet as scored his second of the game and add salt to the injury of the home side in the 85th minutes to make it 3-1 and put the game beyond the reach of Abia Warriors.
