The rescheduled match day twenty fixture between sister club Enyimba of Aba and Abia Warriors of Umuahia has ended 4-1 in favour of the defending champions at the Okigwe Stadium.
The match which was played behind closed, had been post forward to Monday due to the crowd trouble at the Umuahia Township Stadium on Sunday.
It was reported that in the first half of the game, Emeka Isaac’s penalty miss had left an Enyimba fan celebrating close to the Warriors fans and that didn’t go down well with. The Warriors fans resulted to throwing stones and even when Enyimba chairman came to plead with the fans, a missile was thrown at him.
The unrest in the stadium lead to the halting of the match in the twenty fourth of the game.
Meanwhile, Stanley Dimgba scored a brace while Victor Mbaoma and Anayo completed the wrath.
A play interchange passes between Dimgba, Farouk and Olisema who pass the ball well to Dimgba to put the ball beyond Abia Warriors’ keeper Elkanah for the opener.
Few minutes later, Victor Mbaoma scored the second after a sweet counter attack.
Olisema gave another assist in the game for Iwuala Anayo to make it three in the second half after the first half had ended 0-2.
In the 66th minute, Dare Olatunji’s pass over the top found Dimgba who tucked home for his second of the game and the fourth for the defending champions.
Yakub Hammed scored for the homes side in the 75th minutes to reduce the deficit.
The win is Enyimba’s fifth win in their last five matches in all competitions scoring fifteen goals.
