One of the remaining fixtures of match day 2 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) between Wikki Tourist and Plateau United ended in a goalless affair.
The two team that were yet to win went into the game with the intention to get their first win.
For Plateau United that was yet to score this season after their 2-0 loss against Kwara United at home, it was a match to not just win, but to score.
The home side looked the better from the beginning of the game even though there were instances of what the Jos side could though.
However, the first real chance of the match fell to the City Boys as Akila cushioned the ball calmly near Wikki’s goal, but his attempt was easily claimed by GK Nwabali.
The home side responded in quick succession as Guda came close twice to score for the Bauchi side with his first attempt going wide while the second was cleared from the goal line.
In the second half, Arinze Madu of Wikki benefited from a loose ball but fired off target.
The two side had their fair chances with Wikki having more, but a 79th minutes strike could have changed the scoreline of the game after the ball hit the crossbar.
Sale Ibrahim’s angled effort for Wikki was tipped onto the crossbar by goalkeeper Anozie.
The game ended goalless despite efforts by the two teams at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium.
