Heartland FC got their sixth victory of the 2021/2022 NPFL season campaign, but it didn’t come easy as they piped Dakkada by two goals to one at the Dan Anyiam Stadium.
A superb half volley from Kokoette Udo to hand the visiting side the lead in the 40th minutes of the game. The first half ended one nil in favour of the team from Uyo.
Emmanuel Adachi in the 53rd minutes equalled scores for the home team to maintain their five match unbeaten run.
Dakkada captain Aniekan Ekpe wads sent off for an offensive comment at the referee a minute later.
From then on it was advantage Heartland. Substitute Kingsley Maduforo’s continued search for a goal finally paid off as he scored the winner at the dead of the match.
Maduforo turns nicely from the Dakkada defender before putting the ball beyond goalkeeper Olawale Oremada.
It was another impressive result for interim manager Olalekan Gabriel as his side, MFM FC secured a point on the road against Katsina United at the Muhammad Diklo Stadium.
The Church Boys gave a decent performance to end the game goalless.
In Gombe, Substitute Stanley Nnana’s 78 minutes goal gave the Adamawa United their first win of the season.
He tapped home Sadiq Lawan’s pass from close range.
