Kano Pillars were the biggest winners on Wednesday midweek Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) rescheduled fixtures as the Kano based side ran out riot with a 3-0 home win over FC Ifeanyiubah.
Nyinma Nwangwa 3rd minute goal set the ball rolling for the Masu Gidas. In the second half, Nyinma Nwangwa got his brace to give Kano Pillars her second goal. The tie was completed in the 75th minute with goal from ageless Rabiu Ali.
In Makurdi, host Lobi Stars had to dig deep in order to get a 2-2 draw after going behind twice in the game.
Jibrin Mustapha scored the first goal for relegation battlers, Niger Tornadoes before his goal was canceled by Yaya Kone in the 48th minute additional time in the first half.
Tornadoes regained her lead in the 81st minute courtesy Goyi Mohammed only for Michael Stephen last gasp Equaliser in the 94th minute to break the heart of the travelling team.
The last game of the evening ended goal less at the Gateway stadium Sagamu Ogun state.
Remo Stars dominated the game but couldn’t find a deciding goal.
In the first half, Rangers had chance when the referee awarded them a free kick in a dangerous area. The resulting free kick hit the bar,
Rangers rebounded and got the ball at the back of the net but the scorer was offside.
In the second second half, Remo Stars trouped forward in search of a goal but all efforts to get one proved abortive as the Enugu based club traveled back home with a point in hand.
The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) is expected to resume on Sunday.
