Nouhou Moussa, the Sporting Director of Cotonsport of Garoua Nouhou Moussa has revealed to kick442.com that Sunday’s CAF Confederation cup return game against Unisport of Sokode at the Roumde Adja Stadium is the most important of the two-legged tie.
Speaking to kick442.com 24 hours before the game which is Cotonsport’s first home game in the Competition for three years, the experienced football administrator qualified Sunday’s game as the all-important without mincing words.
“It is a two-legged situation, it is true we have a two-goal cushion but Sunday’s game is the most decisive and so most important,” the director opined.
Reacting to questions on the issue of attendance of the game for supporters, the 2017 champion of Cameroon as director of Cotonsport stated it is important to have supporters.
“We are coming back to the historic Roumde Adja Stadium, unfortunately it won’t be a full stadium because of the Covid-19 prevention guides but for the few who will be invited we hope they come in and be supporters and not spectators,” Mr Nouhou concluded.
Cotonsport, 2004 semi-finalist of the CAF Confederation have been out of the competition’s business end for over three years and are keen on returning to the group stages of the CAF interclub competitions.
The 2008 CAF Champions League finalist have not made it to the group stage of any of the two CAF competitions since 2017 and see this season’s event as a big chance to right the wrongs with their current squad.
A win on aggregate for Cotonsport will earn the Club a ticket for the second preliminary round of the competition against Musongati of Burundi or Green Eagles of Zambia later this year.
