Berinyuy Adelpha of Ita Mbong female football club produced a woman of the match performance against Abakwa Boys in a day three encounter of the Women’s football championship in the North West region.
The multi talented ‘polyvalant’ Berinyuy Adelpha scored a goal and created one as her team saw off a resilient Abakwa Girls team.
In the first half of the match, Ita Mbong dominated proceedings, controlling the midfield and created many scoring chances.
Their dominance paid off 29minutes into the match as playmaker, Berinyuy Adelpha benefited from a lose ball to open scores in the match.
Ten minutes later, Sekwe Henrita took advantage from a misunderstanding between the goalkeeper of Abakwa Girls and one of her defenders to score Ita Mbong’s second goal of the match.
Ita Mbong will take a two goals lead at half time and upon resumption of the second half, Ita Mbong dominated the first quarter of the second half but it was Abakwa Girls that scored first in the second half.
Tufoin Juliette benefited from a cross from Yvette Shurr as Abakwa Girls reduced the deficit.
The goal gave Abakwa Girls more impetus but it was Ita Mbong that scored the third and fourth goal to put the match beyond Abakwa Girls.
Berinyuy Adelpha provided the killer pass to Mia Kenna Focgha before substitute Yonette Mburli took advantage of a cross from Blandine Nfor to head home the fourth goal for Abakwa Girls.
The victory keeps Ita Mbong at the top of the championship in the North West region as the first round of the league comes to an end.
