Universal Soccer Academy 1#1 Rainbow FC (Aggregate Rainbow FC 3#2 Universal Soccer)

Rainbow FC of Bamenda will once more battle it out to represent the Northwest region at the national interpools. The boys of coach Ngwa Remy secured their ticket for the finals thanks to a one all tie they played with Universal Soccer Academy in the second leg of the semi finals in the ongoing regional playoffs. They go through thanks to their 2#1 victory in the first leg.

Just like in the first leg, Universal Soccer Academy wasted two clear scoring opportunities in the opening segment of the game with Piepanse Neba shouting straight to goalkeeper Mbah Nyamdi Derrick.

Rainbow FC then took control of the game and at the 23rd minute, Aballo Sodoffio Moudie Samuel benefited from a sublime cross to give his team the lead.

Universal Soccer Academy then regained control and at the 33rd minute, the referee awarded a penalty to Universal Soccer but the intervention of the 4th assistant referee caused the referee to cancel the penalty and award a free kick to Rainbow FC. At the 38th minute, Babale Amadu converted a free kick that went pass goalkeeper Mbah Nyamdi to level scores for his side.

In the second half of the encounter, Rainbow FC resulted to defending and the numerous chances created by Universal Soccer where all squandered.

At the blast of the final whistle, the scores remained one all. Rainbow FC thus qualifies for the finals for the second consecutive year and will meet Foncha Street FC whom they defeated last year in the finals.
