SIMAF FA Mbengwi and Universal Soccer Academy FC Bamenda failed to impress the over 500 fans who stormed the Unity Stadium of The University Bamenda as the regional playoffs went underway.
A match between two new comers into the Regional league. The match was void of goal scoring opportunities but for one shot on target in the second segment of the game for Universal Soccer’s Erasmus Nde. At the end of the match, Franklin Enonugo on SIMAF FA was sent off by the referee for violent conduct on Nche Benafa (captain of Universal Soccer).
At the end of the game, coach Atah Robert of SIMAF FA was not satisfied with the output of his team but says everything thing will be decided in the second leg. For coach Marechal of Universal Soccer Academy, his team will battle for the semi finals ticket on Wednesday.
The match ended on a virgin all tie.
The second match of the day was between Rainbow FC and Grassland. Under the guidance of coach Ngwa Remy, Rainbow dominated proceedings from the start of the game. Their outright was compensated at the 29th minute of play when Neba Brian gave them the lead which was doubled at the 50th minute by Aballo Sodoffio Moudie. Grassland on their part created some scoring chances but failed to make good use of them.
For the coach of Grassland, the poor performance of his team was due to the absence and delay with the license of some of his players.
Coach Ngwa Remy on his part was rather not happy with the chances his team failed to concretise. He promised a more offensive team during the second leg on Wednesday.
The match ended 2#0 I’m favor of Rainbow FC.

The matches were played in the presence of North West FECAFOOT president Mbigha Felix, the secretary general Ndi Tsembom Elvis and a host of other football promoters in the region.
This Sunday June 23rd, two other first leg quarter finals matches will be on schedule.
