Last year’s finalist of the North West Regional League Playoffs Foncha Street FC have secured their place into the finals of this year’s competition.
They secured their ticket to the finals thanks to their second leg 1#0 victory over Hilltop Strikers.
The boys of coach Anumewa Franklin created two scoring opportunities in the first half of the encounter but goalkeeper Bimela Brice of Hilltop Strikers was at the top of his game to keep the score at a virgin all tie at the end of the first half.
Upon resumption of the encounter, Foncha Street took control of the game and dominated proceedings. They came close to scoring on the 49th minute but goalkeeper Bimela Brice and Hilltop Strikers had the crossbar to thank as it came to their rescue. 4 minutes later, Terence Chianian, captain of Foncha Street FC delivered a free kick to Alain Sifor Didan and his bullet Strike went pass goalkeeper Bimela Brice to give Foncha Street FC a one goal advantage.
Foncha Street FC then proceeded to make a substitution but at the 73rd minute of play, Njibero Durel received his second yellow card and was sent off.
With a player advantage to Hilltop Strikers, they created a golden chance at the last minute of the game which was wasted by Emile Mbangah. And the match will remain 0#1 to Foncha Street FC at the blast of the final whistle.
Foncha Street FC this qualifies to the finals for the third consecutive time.
