After winning the fourth WWC in total for the USA and her second after the triumph of 2015 on home patch, coach Jill Ellis has made the shortlist of 10 coach’s in the FIFA The Best Awards.
It is however a title that Jill Ellis is accustomed to, as she lastly won the FIFA Women’s coach of the year in 2015, an award that was the combination of FIFA The Best and France Football’s Ballon d’Or at the time.
Phil Neville also makes the cut for successfully leading the Three Lionesses to a fourth place finish and playing some exquisite stuff in the competition when they were at full gear.

With all the near perfect 10 names nominated, one could easily make a case for the German coach, Martina Voss Teckenburg who led her side to a perfect 100 percent record in the group stage. Germany scored 6 goals without conceding any and equally had a walk over Nigeria in their round of 16’s tie (3-0) before unfortunately falling to Sweden in the quarterfinals 1-2.
The awards would be handed on the 23rd of September, 2019 in Milan.
