After reports of lack of financial support from the government first emerged from a local radio this Friday morning,New Stars president Faustin Domkeu have told kick442.com that his club risk having punctures in their travel schedule as what they expect as government support has not yet reached the hands of the club’s El Suprimo.

New Stars assistant coach, Patrice Fotso had told local TV Station;STV earlier in the week that the club was program to travel to Nairobi this Friday at 3:45 PM to confront reigning Kenyan Champions Gor Mahia on Sunday in the first leg of the last qualifying rounds for the group stage of the 2018/2019 CAF Confederation cup, but all seems not to be going as planned.

It is now abundantly clear that the club needs the support of football officials in the country to ensure they get to Nairobi and better represent the country.

Earlier this season,Asante Kotoko of Ghana had a walk-over against “Cameroon 2” because officials of football in the country didn’t do all to organize the cup of Cameroon final on time to have a winner. There are indications New Stars may be heading to the same direction or at least having “Bananas peelings” being thrown on their way to glory.

After New Stars qualification in Limbe against Al Ahly, President Faustin Domkeu told the press they had played their part and other actors including the president of the country,Paul Biya to play their part to make the teams(New Stars and Cotonsport) better represent the country as a good run in the competition for both clubs give success to Cameroon and an opportunity for the world to come and enjoy Cameroon.

A win for New Stars on aggregate against Gor Mahia will see the club qualify for the group stage of the competition for the first time and the qualification will fetch hundreds of Millions from the CAF before the start of the group stage of the competition.

In all honesty, Cameroonian clubs are miles away from those around the continent in terms of financial autonomy and this is a major cause of the shambolic results the clubs obtain these days.
