The 2019-2020 Nigeria National League (NNL) which is expected to resume on Saturday, March 14, 2020, will no longer kick off on the said date.
This was revealed in a circular by the NNL Chief Operating Officer (COO), Lawrence Katken.
“Due to circumstances beyond the Nigeria National League on caustic situation bedeviling Nigeria football, we hereby humbly inform all NNL Clubs and followers that the proposed date of 14th March, 2020, for resuming the League is no longer feasible.” The statement read.
The NNL board seized the opportunity of the circular to inform the league stakeholders that it is leaving no stone unturned as far as ensuring that the league resume very soon.
“We are leaving no stone unturned to ensure the league start soonest. Please be assured we share in your pain while regretting all the inconveniences you have gone through.” The statement concluded.
The Nigeria second tier club football radar (NNL) popularly referred to as the most important league in Nigeria went on Christmas/New Year Break in December, 2019. The league is yet to resume since the break due to some logistics and germaine issues between the League Board, Referees, Nigeria Football Federation and other stakeholders.
