FC Ebedei of Sagamu, Ogun State defeated Osopadec FC of Ondo State 3-0 in Sagamu to record its third straight win in the 2022 Nigeria Nationwide League One on Friday.
The third tier NLO1 game which lasted for approximately 45 minutes at the FC Ebedei Stadium, Sagamu, ended in a 2-2 draw and was abandoned.
Adigun Luqman opened the scoring for FC Ebedei in the fifth minute as Osopadec FC coach complained bitterly about the officiating.
Osopadec FC responded with two goals to race into an away lead.
Omoyeni Michael equalised for the Ondo state-based team in the 18th minute.
Omohera Monday in the 21st minute gave Osopadec FC the lead as he scrambled home the goal from close range.
One of Osopadec’s coaches over-reacted Osopadec and was sent off after his side’s second goal.
Opeyemi in the 32nd minute set up Musa Isa Abubakar to steer the ball into the bottom corner for FC Ebedei’s equaliser.
Three minutes from halftime, Osopadec FC defender, Bojo Adewale handled the ball inside the box and the referee signalled for a penalty kick.
The penalty call infuriated the Osopadec FC coach who beckoned his players to leave the pitch.
After five minutes in which Osopadec FC didn’t return to the field of play, the centre referee ended the game, which means three points and three goals in favour of FC Ebedei.
The win was the third straight win for the Sagamu-based side which lifted the team to the second position in its group.
