Dynamo Moscow (Muea and Bomaka) will battle against Olympique Lyonnais (Buea Town and Bokwaongo) for a chance of finishing the Njie Clinton End of Year festival as the third best team. Both sides head into the third place battle after losing in both semi-finals.
FCFA 400,000 is up for grabs for the winner of the third place battle. The loser goes home with FCFA 250,000.
Dynamo Moscow will be hoping that their defence is up to par after conceded two late goals to take their encounter against Marseille into penalties where they eventually lost.
Dynamo Moscow opened the scoring against Marseille at the 6th minute of play through a penalty kick from Amih Renzo. The team then went two up through a goal from Sona Ekobe.
Both Renzo and Ekobe are the marksmen for Dynamo Moscow. Both players had numerous chances to seal the game against Marseille but failed to take their chances. Sona Ekobe (Robinho) had most of the clear cut opportunities but squandered.
For Lyon, the team who began with a blistering attack against Spurs in the first semi-final will hope their defence line is also up to speed. The side conceded 4 goals and their coach will need to sure up the defence if they are to come out of the game victorious.
Oscar Ngembo is the player to watch out for Lyon. His goal against Spurs is reported to be the faster goal of the tournament so far. Ngembo will certainly need to practice his penalty kicks if at all he is called for a penalty kick. In the last encounter against Spurs Ngembo had a penalty saved – a goal that would have gotten his side back into the game.
Ngembo will also be hoping that he gets more than one goal in the encounter to stand a chance of finishing as the top goal scorer in the tournament. He is just oe goal behind the leaders in Mbinglo Franklin and Tangiri Franklin who both have two goals each.
The closing ceremony of the Njie Clinton End of Year Festival which is expected to begin by 11 am will see artistic performances from Witty Minstrel (Be Proud remix), Mola Mongombe aka La Roi Soleil and Cameroonian music sensation Kameni will all perform live at the Buea Town stadium.
