The Management of Njalla Quan Sports Academy of Limbe in collaboration with the Grey Lab have unveiled plans to launch a Sports walk and health campaign for the inhabitants of Limbe later this year.
Njalla Quan Junior, the Chief executive officer of the 20-year-old leading Sports Academy in the English extraction of Cameroon made the revelation on Saturday, September 25, during a presser at their headquarters in Man O War Bay Limbe.
“We want to give back to our community, a community in need of such events. Football alone can’t reach out to as many people as we want,” the words of president Njalla Henry Junior.
Noted for its diversified range of products in the sports business, the institution is displaying need to better associate with a greater portion of its immediate community and why not seek collaboration to improve the health and sports cautiousness of this ecology.
The Njalla Quan Sports Academy of Limbe-Grey Lab “Walk For Life” is a three day health sensitization and walk exercise designed to improve the health of the inhabitants of the different municipalities of Limbe as part of the corporate social responsibility of the Njalla Quan Sports Academy.
Per plans unveiled by Messrs Henry Njalla Quan Junior and Ekiti Martin (Dr) on Saturday, September 26, the populations of Limbe I, II, III will between, December 17 – 19, 2020 be screened for Diabetes, Hypertension, Obesity, health talks and have a walk across the city in the final day.
The initiative guided by the theme, “Stay Active, Live Healthy,” is a free for all initiative which has as main objective to pull at least 10 top notch medical doctors and a battery of nursing experts over the period of the event.
“It’s not going to be a marathon, it’s going to be a walk. So everybody including people who may or may not have use all of their four limbs can still participate in the walk. The pace is going to be friendly, inclusive for everyone,” Dr Ekiti Martin, a medical consultant for the all-inclusive event and permanent consultant for the Njalla Quan Sports Academy of Limbe stated.
Cosmetics merchandising firms, Eva Beauty Products and The Bros Enterprise were present during the presser and promised to back the organizers by donating prizes and gifts for those to participate in a Raffle Draw across the three days.
Besides the free screening, health talks, the organizers plan to hand gifts to every participant in the event besides prizes to be reserved for the winners of the walk.
“It has been a difficult few years for the people of Limbe with the political atmoso and the Covid-19 crisis. Through this difficult times, Limbe has been home to many persons coming from different parts of the country, we think it is time good enough for them to feel our friendship and are very friendly to whoever is keen on joining us in this unique event to restore smiles on the faces of thousands,” president Henry Njalla Quan Junior said during his conversation with the media.
It is not the first time the Njalla Quan Sports Academy of Limbe has been into this type of activity. A 45 Kilometer Idenau-Limbe International Marathon of the yesteryears pulled thousands of participants and sympathizers at home and abroad for years.
It promises to be a December to remember for the Njalla Quan Sports Academy as in addition to the walk for life, plans are on the offing for an Under-13 football tournament in memory of the founder of the institution the great Henry Njalla Quan of blessed memory who left an indelible mark on sports and football in particular before his demise in 2012.
