Under-17 Lions of Cameroon net minder Ning-Che Bong Kadad has expressed trust in the quality of the Cameroon team vis-a-vis the pairings of next month’s Under-17 AFCON tournament in Morocco.
Speaking during a recent interview with the media the 16-year ANAFOOT prodigy scouted from Northwest-Cameroon acknowledged it is going to be a tough tournament for all group C teams.
“It is going to be a tough challenge, our opponents are as good as we are. I believe with the preparations since December, our team has improved and the technical staff is doing us to get us ready,” Ning stated.
On the preparations front, Cameroon under the guidance of lead trainer Anicet Mbarga Foe has had three training camps in which the team has worked on different aspects of the game and tested the player’s assimilation through friendly games.
Ning believes the team is going to make Cameroonians proud.
“I believe we are going to properly defend the colors of our country, taking one game at a time but with the objective of going as far as possible,” Ning concluded.
The Under-17 Lions are currently observing a two-days break from camp activities with hopes of returning fresher for the continuation of the fourth training camp on Friday.
Cameroon on their eight appearance in the competition face winners in 2015 and 2017, Mali, 2015 finalist South Africa and Senegal in group C of the competition which begins on match 13th and run till March 31st, 2021 across three cities in Morocco.
Anicet Mbarga Foe’s Cameroon team has been in fine form during preparations, scoring 22 goals and conceding just twice in seven games.
Cameroon open their tournament on March 13th against Senegal before confronting South Africa three days later and climax group stage activities against Mali on March 21.
Ning-Che Bong and others are expected to make the most of the chance to represent millions of young Cameroonians if including in the final squad for the tournament.
