Tanzania women’s league Champions, Simba Queens has completed the signing of striker Ibinabo Alex Georgewill from Confluence Queens FC of Nigeria.
The striker has signed a two-year contract to serve in the squad ready for the new 2022/2023 league season.
Confluence participates in the Nigerian Women’s Premier League (NWFL) Premiership where Ibinabo Georgewill played in the 2021/2022 season scoring a goal for the team during their 1-1 draw with Edo Queens on December 22, 2021.
She also scored three (3) goals during the 2021 Flying Officers Cup (Women’s football pre-season tournament) to emerge as the top goal scorer.
The former Rivers Angels player scored a goal for the Port Harcourt-based side in the 2020/2021 regular season.
Simba Queens are gearing up for the CECAFA (East Africa) Zonal Qualifying tournament for the 2022 TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions which will start dusting off in the next few days.
The team will likely face the likes of AS Kigali (Rwanda), She Corporate (Uganda), Vihiga Queens (Kenya), and Warriors Queens (Zanzibar) at the CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers.
