The new Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) logo has finally been unveiled. The logo was unveiled on Thursday, March 5, 2020, at Civic Center, Victoria Island, Lagos.
During the unveiling ceremony, Chairperson of NWFL, Aisha Falode seized the opportunity of the occasion to praise the heroes of Nigerian Women Football since it’s inception in 1990.
” Since 1990, women’s football in Nigeria has grown from strength to strength. When you see how proud our women have made us globally today, from the five world cup appearance legend Onome Ebi to the goal scoring machine Asisat Oshoala to the youngest and safest pair of hands Chiamaka Nnandozie who recently joined Paris FC, you understand why we have been crowned 11 times African Champions.”
Aisha Falode also lauded those that have contributed immensely towards the upliftment of women football in Nigeria for the past three (3) decades.
“All this would not have been possible because of the many heroes and heroines of the game, many of who we will never know or hear of, but who have sacrificed the blood, time and resources and even some lives for the growth of this game. These are the many coaches, players, advocates, officials and administrators et cetera in the early days of the game.”
Falode said that the board will continue to work hard and ensure that women football in Nigeria continue to progress in leaps and bounds.
” We continue to unearth gems despite the lack of private sector support which I am ofcourse hoping will change with some brands present here today.
So today after 30 years, we are releasing an updated visual identity, which includes a new logo, colours and font.”
The new NWFL Logo design follows a modernised and unique design trend. It will serve as the league new logo, identity, status, brand and unique colour. The new logo will be used in projecting the image of the league at all levels be it Nigeria Women Premier League (NWPL), Pro-League and Amateur League.
The logo unveiling is part of the rebranding verve of Aisha Falode NWFL board.
