26-year-old Indomitable Lions of Cameroon flying forward, Nicolas Moumie Ngamaleu has suddenly hit the peak of his powers in the national team.
The arrival of coach Antonio Conceicao Da Silva Oliviera late last year has transformed Ngamaleu from a fringe player in the national team to a game changer.
The forward’s pair of assist in Monday’s AFCON 2021 win by two goals to nil win against Mozambique meant the forward has scored or assisted in four of the last six games under coach the 48-year-old Portuguese trainer.
No player has a greater contribution in that time. Team captain Vincent Aboubakar is closest to that with three goals in the same period.
Ngamaleu’s rise to greatness for Club and country has been steady; from his days at Cotonsport of Garoua to date at Young Boys Bern.
The same can be said about his progress in the national team as he has gone through the different national teams of Cameroon, leaving a positive remark.
The Switzerland-based forward’s ability to pierce defenses and put in inch-perfect passes makes the former Cotonsport of Garoua goal poacher a kill element in the Conceicao success Club.
