The title playoffs in the Cameroon league one championship is gradually becoming a two man race between Union De Mouvement Sportive of Loum, and defending Champions Cotonsport of Garoua. UMS has an edge courtesy of their three straight wins in the playoffs, as compared to cotonsport who have won two and drawn one. Coincidentally, the two sides will face each other on the last day of play, in what many football pundits have described as a final. The two sides will have to solve the APEJES and Dragon’s equations this weekend, before their epic showdown next week.

UMS will be gunning for their second league title, while for the cotonites, they are eyeing their 16th league title. Cotonsport’s center back Ngweni Ndasi Denis is relishing the opportunity to clash with UMS in what will be a title decider. After his sides 4#1 cup win over YOSA on Thursday, May 30, 2019, he told Kick442.com that “before coming for the playoffs, we knew it is going to be difficult, because all the teams that qualified were well prepared. UMS in front of us and playing them on the last day doesn’t scare us. It is a championship and to win a championship, you must win everybody”.

The Cameroon international however had much respect for UMS. “UMS is a good side and they have proven that they are up, but we are well prepared and we know we are going to face a strong side” he added. The imposing center defender scored his second goal of the season against YOSA in the Cameroon cup after he got off the mark last week against Olympic of Meiganaga still in the Cameroon cup, and now thinks it’s time for him to get his first league goal before the end of the playoffs. He said “it’s not that I love scoring only in the Cameroon cup, I wish to also score in the playoffs, it’s just a game, and it do happens so I pray it happens too in the playoffs”.

Ngweni Ndasi will be hoping to play an important role for his side on Sunday, when they take on Dragon sportive of Yaoundé, in one of day four games of the title playoffs in the Cameroon league one championship.
