Former Yong Sports Academy of Bamenda creative midfielder Ngong Neville has revealed he is set to contribute to the good of Canon Yaounde when they take on Fauve Azur Elite this Wednesday in match-day nine of the Cameroon League One championship.
The midfielder made the revelation pitch side when he was interviewed after the team’s last training session in the build up to their next outing against newcomers Fauve Azur Elite on Wednesday.
“I am ready to help my team and confident we will win tomorrow,” Ngong assured the media before going on say he is unfazed by the fact that Canon had lost in their last two outings. “I believe it has just been a bad period for us but very confident in our team and believe we can start a new run tomorrow,” the ex-Rainbows FC midfielder who lasted four years at YOSA and played over one hundred Elite One matches under coach Martin Nkabyo continued.
Neville joined Canon in December 2021 and has had to wait four months for his competitive debut for the ten times Cameroon champions. The playmaker wasn’t even part of the squad that initially traveled to Douala for their recent run of league matches. However the latest run of poor results caused coach Minkreo Birwe to invite Neville and Bahazah Varlery over and both players could start Wednesday’s center region derby against a Fauve Azur side in form having won their last three games.
The return of Neville who is awaiting debut and Bahazah who has played two games for the club this season is certainly an indication that Canon that won five of their opening seven games will try new personnels in an attempt to rediscover their winning touch.
