Abia Angel’s attacker, Ndudim Amarachi has admonished Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Board to fight the course of league players as she praised the efforts of the board for a wonderful organization of the league.
She disclosed this in an exclusive interview with kick442.com Nigeria correspondent, Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde.
“I didn’t figure out any disorganization from NWFL Board last season. They are doing a wonderful job as the largest room in this world is room for improvement which the league can improve on. My advice for the board is to stand and fight the course of their subjects, players financially and otherwise. This will take the league to the next level.”
Most football players do start their careers from the grassroots. Amarachi’s career is not an exception as she took us through her career path.
“At first, it was passion that drove me. I would go out of my house to see girls play on the street. I decide to join them at the Sabbath field, from there a coach from Abia Angels, Mr.Victor Ejiofor saw me. He had interest in my skills, so he encouraged me, told me to join them during the team screening exercise. I joined up and scaled through.”
Abia Angels couldn’t qualify for Super 4 last season, Amarachi also spoke on how she felt about this and how last season pined out for her.
“It wasn’t a good one. I felt very bad. My target last season was to be the best. I was not able to accomplish that due to some reasons best known to me. I didn’t feature in any match last season, but I was able to learn and compete with some big shoes.” She said.
Major sporting events are on hold due to the outbreak of the novel CoronaVirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Ndudim Amarachi as well as other players in the league have no choice than to do indoor training in order to maintain social distancing.
“Well, my view about the pandemic, I believe whatever has a start, must definitely have a stop. It’s contagious stuff, and we are doing all that we can to stay safe. The game shouldn’t go on, the implementation from the government and league board is okay by me. I think it’s going to reduce the fatality rate and a lot more. I do some personal workouts to keep fit. I have a little space where I can play some set-piece with my colleague.”
“Group A is a hard group, but with hard work and prayers, we will scale trough. For next season, I prefer the round-robin game, in spite of the fact that I haven’t experienced it before. In less than five years I’ll be in greener pastures, where my skills will be respected and paid for. In Leagues such as the Swedish League, France, Germany, England, by God’s grace.” She concluded.
Ndudim Amarachi and Abia Angels are drawn in Group A ahead of next season’s kick-off date alongside Pelican Stars FC, Nasarawa Amazons FC, Sunshine Queens FC, Bayelsa Queens FC, Confluence Queens FC, Dream Stars FC, and Edo Queens FC.
