News reaching kick442.com have it that Nigerian female Paralympics gold medalist, Ndidi Nwosu is dead.
The news was made known by opera news.
The Rio de Janeiro para gold medalist died after battling with lungs affection for years.
The news of the death was made known by former President of the Nigeria Powerlifting Federation Ms Queen Uboh in a telephone conversation.
Uboh revealed that the late Para Olympian’s husband had called her to tell of Ndidi’s demise.
The former president stated that the athlete had been off and on the hospital as she had two surgeries which paid for.
“Ndidi sustained an injury from the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia. She was a heavy weight powerlifter. I had actually assisted by paying for two of the surgeries she had in Owerri but after the surgery, she was never the same again.
“She had been off and on in the hospital and that was why she couldn’t take part in this last World Cup.
Uboh described the powerlifter as a down to earth person with a quiet personality that’s why she is not popular.
She is a gold medalist in the 2016 Olympics and 2018 Commonwealth games. It was at the Commonwealth Games that she sustained an injury which affected her spine.
