Fifth round of camping in preparation for the 2020 African Nations Championship hosted by Cameroon commence Monday 9, March 2020. The camping is hosted in Yaounde where the selected 30 will be in action to pave their way to the competition itself.

The absence of some key players in the local league as a result of other duties, may alternate the league table as was the case during the fourth round of camping.

Cotonsport of Garoua after 50 days of no win before revival will miss 6 players including goalkeeper Omossola Simon, Banga Bidjeme, Etta Bawak, Tiencheu Alphonse all at the defense line while mid fielders Ebongue Yanick and Abega Mbarga will not feature in the upcoming match days for Cotonsport. The absence of such vital position players will pose a difficult one and may deray their race to the top. Coton is 1st with 45 points.

Ngwan Brian and top scorer Leon Boyomo of PWD of Bamenda with 11 goals have been called up for the second time. His absence will reduce his chances to end up as top scorer for the season and leave Kevin Assiga of Canon Yaounde as favorite. With the Defender and influential attacker out of the squad PWD have to fill the voids they create.Speaking to recently, Coach Pagou David  made a convincing declaration:

“Everyone can score, we don’t depend on one person for our victories”.

PWD is second with 44 points.

In terms of number of players Bamboutos FC of Mbouda is the second highest contributor. Five of their players (Etame Ngombe, Ojong Nkongho, Ndi Rene, Lobe Ulrich and Mbappe Muller) are in the national team. Such a number from a single team leaves loopholes in a team and may affect it’s performance though the club is ranked 5th with 40 points.

Union as well as Canon will miss out skillful players from the squad. Samuel Nlend with 8 goals, Andoulou Serge all of Union. Abanda Nkoa, Ngede Ngede of Canon. Yahaya Abdoulaiye and Nsoga Brian of Apejes joins Coach Yves Clement’s team.

Others whose absence will be felt includes
Goalkeepers Anye Derick Panthere of Nde
Epane Epane of Stade Renard

Dooh Moukoko (Eding Sports), Baduidana Onana (Colombe)
Banbe Thiery (AS Fortuna), Daouda Alim (Feutcheu), Stephane Meyoupo ( Eding sports), Beo Batto (Eding Sports), Thierry
Akono Akono (AS Fortuna) and Ebene Jacques (Feutcheu FC)

The camping will run from the 9th to 29 of March 2020.
