Aigle of Moungo have sent home FC Ebolowa after a dramatic 2-1 win in a tightly contested Day three encounter at the Ngeme Omnisport stadium in Limbe.
Aigle’s midfield maestro, Maurice Biboum handed his side the win through an assist and a goal from the spot. This has taken them closer to the semi final.
Aigle Royal took the lead after dominating in the opening twenty minutes of play. Once again Biboum Maurice, scorer of two goals in Aigle’s last game, proved he is a player with great potential as he dribbled pass the defense of FC Ebolowa and smartly assisted Sachee Benjamin Bwe, who netted the opener 22 minutes into the game.
But the joy was cut short after FC Ebolowa were awarded a penalty through which they got the equalizer.
Alex Ngani Ngani earned his side a penalty after he was brought down in the box.
Patrick Ndzana Fouda walked up to the spot and tricked goalkeeper Martin Sone to go right while he found the left side of the net to produce the equalizer.
The South representative, gave Aigle Royal a tough time in this encounter, and denied them several goal scoring opportunities.
An unexpected careless push in the box caused FC a penalty which Biboum converted win the game. He counts three goals in the competition.
After two consecutive trials in the National Interpol, Ebolowa will have to try again next time.
Aigle Royal of Nkongsamba, are top of Pool B with 7 points, same as Victoria United FC of Limbe.
The Littoral representative face Real Bertoua on Monday while Victoria United face FC Ebolowa.
