The lead trainer of Zambian Premier League outfit NASPA Stars FC of Lusaka has lifted the lead on the factor that decided their match-day four CAF Confederation cup game against Cotonsport this Sunday in Garoua.
The Zambian debutants were second-best to a dreaded Cotonsport of Garoua side, conceding five goals with just one reply in what became their biggest defeat in three years.
Speaking after the game in the post-match presser, coach Muhammad was quick to point out the telling factor.
“It was our first appearance in the competition. Cotonsport is a great team. They are previous semi-finalist and showed their quality today. I believe experienced made the difference,” the Egyptian trainer stated.
NASPA Stars conceded twice in the first segment through Lambert Ngueme Araina and Marou Souaibou in the 21st and 35th minutes before completing choking in the second segment as Arnaud Sanou Sibiri plus substitutes Ebanza Zo Archange and Francis Tombi.
The latest win extends Cotonsport’s winning run at home to three games and puts them at the top of Group B with 9 points from four games.
Group rivals JS Kabylie and RS Berkane tied for nothing in the other match-day four fixture in the group.
Cotonsport of Garoua host JS Kabylie on April 21 in Garoua for their match-day five fixture hoping for a win to reach the quarter-finals.
