Two second half goals from Mohammed Shammasu and Daddy Morris secured a 2-0 triumph for Nasarawa United of Lafia over Akwa United of Uyo in one of Monday Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) games. Nasarawa United tried to get the much needed goals in the first half but all their efforts proved abortive as the scores remained 0-0 at half time.

In the second half half, the goal deadlock was broken in the 58th minute with Mohammed Shammasu on the score sheet. In the 92nd minute, the Lafia based club sealed the victory with a late goal from Daddy Morris.

In the second game of the day between Go Round of Omoku and El Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri, the game seemed to be heading towards a 0-0 stalemate until 58th minute strike by Sodiq Ololade secured a slim win for Go Round.
